whatever you decide, please

whatever you decide, please change your RSS to a full feed. I would read many more articles if I didn't have to click through at all.

I can't be the only one.

I can't just publish the

I can't just publish the entire article in my feed, that would be plagiatry. Or is it something else you're trying to say?

Well, maybe including the

Well, maybe including the entire article in the feed is not possible/ethical. But you could include the link to the full article and not a link to the condensed bit on this page.

I was thinking the same

I was thinking the same thing.. it kinda ruins the whole experience of the site (having it the way it is).

I was too lazy to post though, so i eddited firefox to open a new tab instead of a new window.

Greasemonkey script

This annoyed me so much I wrote the following greasemonkey script:

// ==UserScript==
// @name Ubuntu HQ Fix
// @namespace bdd
// @description Fix outbound links to open in current page
// @include*
// ==/UserScript==

var links = document.getElementsByTagName("a");
for (var i = 0; i < links.length; i++) {
var link = links[i];
if (link.getAttribute("target") == "_blank") {

Do not want.

Not a single page on the internet needs to open in a new page anymore. The users should be the ones who decide when new tabs/windows are opened, not the pages.

You made me change it.

Democracy won: I changed the default setting to 'open in current window'. Registered users can still change that option in their account settings.
You should all be thankful to Nigel, the visitor who reported this annoying problem I wasn't aware of.

Please remember, if you have another problem or request in the future, don't hesitate to contact me!

An optimal solution (for me at least)

Hey, we all use firefox (or at least some browser that supports tabs) and we're all used to that solution. So, I usually middle click on a headline I'm interested in and if I like the teaser I click "Full Story". Well, currently that opens yet another tab... So, here's my proposal. When you click on a headline, have THAT open in a "new" window (read "tab") and then clicking on "Full Story" just links inside that same tab.
