Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition will be coming to Linux.

Hotline Miami is a 2D top-down action video game by Dennaton Games, blending top down perspective with stealth, extreme violence and surreal storytelling, along with a soundtrack and visuals influenced by 1980s culture. The game has a Metacritic score of 86/100. Hotline Miami was a Windows only game until recently.

The PhotoFiltre LX project has begun, this is an effort to bring quick, simple image editing on Linux to the masses. After PhotoFiltre LX is developed it will be enhanced with more features and functionality. Apart from PhotoFiltre being my favourite image editor it is also extremely popular with many other people who would like to use it on Linux for its speed and simplicity.

A new icon for the Ubuntu Software Center has landed in Raring. 

You never get tired of pay-what-you-want Humble Bundles. This time it's just a weekly sale that will last for 5 more days and the game on demand is none other than Bastion, the immensely popular and multi-platform action-RPG. Bastion is one of the most downloaded games in Ubuntu Software Center.

A new release of desktop e-mail app Geary is now available, and adds a number of significant improvements over previous versions.

Geary, made by Yorba, the same development team behind photo app Shotwell, is billed as a ‘lightweight’ alternative to bigger, bulkier apps like Thunderbird or Evolution.

Dungeon Fray is a fast paced roguelike puzzle game featuring three playable classes, randomly generated levels, turn based combat and unlockable achievements and perks.

Non-LTS releases of Ubuntu will see their support periods halved from Ubuntu 13.04 onwards.

In an attempt to save time, money and effort, ‘regular’ releases of Ubuntu going forward are to be supported for 9 months  down from the traditional period of 18 months.

We have a winner or should I say winners? During every release cycle, Canonical conducts a wallpaper contest on Flickr through which they select the final set of default wallpapers for Ubuntu. Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail was no different and user submissions crossed 300 mark even though there were strict rules such as one wallpaper per person and similar. 

An interesting project recently popped up in indiegogo.com, one of the many KickStarter-like crow-funding alternatives out there.

Shotwell 0.14 – You Can Finally Hide The Sidebar
