A powerful voice recognition tool  has been demoed on Ubuntu by a Linux developer John McClain.

His app allows users to perform a wide range of actions by hitting a shortcut key and speaking.

It can:

• Launch and close applications
• Open websites
• Perform basic file management
• Handle dictation
• Send ‘Notes/Reminders’ ...
