I have been successfully using GIMP for what seems like years. It's free, it's stable and once you understand the rather strange menu layout, it actually provides fantastic functionality. But the reality remains that some people are still trying to come off their Photoshop dependency, and for these individuals, the argument about how fantastic it is tends to fall on deaf ears.

GIMPShop: An Easy Transition. I have heard of GIMPShop, based on GIMP (proper) in the past, yet I never gave it a lot of thought. After all, GIMP has always met my needs with plenty of success. But with so many people telling me that GIMP was great, but presented too much of a learning curve, I decided to take a look at this application to see if it could help alleviate some future headaches for new GIMP users.
