First Look: The 'Social Web Browser' Flock Hits Primetime

It may be almost a year late, but Flock, the browser dedicated to social networking, has finally released version 1.0. The results are surprisingly compelling.

Flock is based on Firefox code, so from a page rendering perspective, the web you’ll see is nearly identical to that in Firefox 2. But while Flock may start with the Gecko rendering engine, it significantly differentiates itself from Firefox by layering in features designed to help you keep up with all your contacts in the social networking sphere.
