Configuring Folding@home for Linux

From folding@home website:

Folding@home is a distributed computing project β€” people from throughout the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer takes the project closer to our goals. Folding@home uses novel computational methods coupled to distributed computing, to simulate problems millions of times more challenging than previously achieved.

Today we will show how to configure and run folding@home, and use a GUI frontend called Prothink to observe progress. I am sure there are others but we will focus on Prothink.

First we will download the extract folding@home client from it’s website over here.
