Mythbuntu 7.10: The Entertainment of Ubuntu

Ubuntu-based distribution and live CD focused upon setting up a standalone MythTV system similar to KnoppMyth or Mythdora. It can be used to install a standalone frontend, backend, or combination machines. Mythbuntu uses Xfce as its default desktop and provides a graphical Control Centre to configure the system.

Mythbuntu 7.10: An Excellent MythTV Distribution

Last month, following the availability of Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" was the release of Mythbuntu 7.10. Mythbuntu is an Ubuntu derivative and has been around for less than a year, but they have been making great progress with this MythTV-optimized distribution. We have been testing out Mythbuntu 7.10 in several different configurations over the past few weeks and today we have our thoughts to share on it as well as a rough overview for those that may have not yet tried this Linux distribution.

Mythbuntu 7.10 hits 20,000 downloads in one week

The Ubuntu based MythTV distribution, Mythubuntu 7.10, released on Monday 25th October 2007, and in less then a week tracked hit it’s 20,000th download.

You probably know by now that Ubuntu comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. There's the stripped down Xubuntu for slower-performing systems, Edubuntu for kids and teachers, and Kubuntu with the more Windows-like interface.

Mythbuntu 7.10 Public Alpha 4

The Mythbuntu team is happy to announce the release of Mythbuntu Alpha 4. This release is also based on Gutsy and should be considered Alpha quality until final release. It is at a very usable stage, and sports bleeding edge packages.
